Another beginning and another journey...

If you've found your way to this blog, you probably already know some of the story of our family adoption journey, but allow me to briefly refresh your memory of the previous part of our journey before I begin to tell you about the upcoming twists and turns in our travels through life.

About 2 years ago, I returned to the U.S. after living, working, and ministering in NW India for a couple of years. I returned, knowing that God had big, exciting, and perhaps slightly terrifying plans for the next stage of my life. I'd felt Him calling me to adoption for a while, but in the summer of 2009, I knew that it was finally time to pursue this dream. With the Lord's help, and amazing support from many of you reading this, I brought home my beautiful little Matani Enat just one year later. It is hard to adequately put into words how wonderful and challenging my life with her has been this past year. I told a friend, "My worst days with her are still better than my best days before I had her." That is so very true, though it doesn't mean that my life is easy or simple. Being a working single mother holds a lot of challenges, but through it all the Lord is faithful and life is good.

Now I am thrilled and excited to tell you that another little African princess will be joining our family. A beautiful little 4 year old girl from the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire) will hopefully be coming home to our family sometime within the next 6 months or so. I am amazed at the Lord's hand in all of this. He has clearly led the way on this continuing adventure, and His plans surprised and overjoyed me. I can't wait for this little darling to join us, and while she waits to come home, I ask that you would pray with me for her health and safety. Please pray that the process will go smoothly, without complications, and that I will be able to bring her home quickly.

Thank you for your continued interest in our lives. I know it means you love us, and I am blessed by that. I hope you know that we love you in return. Our lives are richer because of you.
